Getting here

Sustainable transport

CORDE is on the University, or U, electric bus route, which travels from northwest Cambridge through Eddington and West Cambridge to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, including stops at Cambridge city centre and the rail station.  It is within the city’s cycling network.

Car

Parking is available at Madingley Road Park and Ride, a ten minute walk or short bus journey from CORDE (the U bus stop is located at the back of the Park and Ride along Eddington Avenue). 

Air

London Stansted is the nearest airport to CORDE, with express train service into Cambridge station. London Heathrow and Gatwick airports are accessible by bus and train.

Accommodation

There is a wide range of hotel and short-term accommodation near CORDE at different price points, including hotels within walking distance at Eddington (the new Northwest Cambridge development) and B&B accommodation at Cambridge colleges outside of term time.

The new Northwest Cambridge district at Eddington offers year-round hotel and apart-hotel accommodation located within walking distance of CORDE. More hotel and short-stay information can be found on Visit Cambridge.

College accommodation (out of term time)

Cambridge colleges can often host visitors outside of term times at a competitive cost (dates outside of term time are roughly: 5 December-12 January; 13 March-25 April and 12 June-4 October). Options include Christ’s College (from around £45/night) and Churchill College (from around £65/night) for a standard single room. What else is nearby?

The West Hub offers a restaurant, lunch hall, coffee kiosk, shop and post office, as well as meeting rooms and shared working space. The West Cafe, offering lunch and hot drinks, is also a short walk from CORDE. There are regular food trucks on the West Cambridge Site and a grocery store and bakery at Eddington.
