Technical specifications

Key Capabilities

  • XPS for chemical analysis of surfaces under inert, UHV conditions
  • UPS for measurements of valence bands and work functions with a 21.2eV excitation source
  • Angle resolved XPS by varying the angle that the sample is held at and in this way varying the analysis depth down to a few nanometers
  • Depth profiling with argon ion gun etching

Compatibility

Powders and solids, including air-sensitive samples.

Usage restrictions

The sample size is limited to 1×2 cm2.

Operating Status

Fully operational

Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us with any other questions.

What are the sample size and weight requirements?

For powder samples, 20 mg is sufficient. For solid samples, the size should be as close to 5×5 mm2 as possible.

How should samples be prepared?

The samples can be in their original forms and kept in an appropriate container during transport/post. For solid samples, please mark the side that needs to be analysed.
