UK MBE Day 2026

OVERVIEW

UK MBE is an annual workshop dedicated to the field of Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE). The event explores current research, advances in material systems, and the technical capabilities enabled by MBE growth techniques.

Participants will gain insights into practical aspects of epitaxial growth, system operation, and characterisation methods, as well as the challenges and innovations involved in relocating multiple MBE systems into the new laboratories at the Ray Dolby Centre.

This workshop is suitable for researchers, technical specialists, postgraduate students, and industry professionals working with or alongside epitaxial growth, semiconductor materials, thin‑film deposition, or related disciplines. It is ideal for attendees seeking to broaden their understanding of MBE processes, connect with peers in the UK MBE community, or gain exposure to facility‑level best practice within a national research environment.

This event is hosted by the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, with contributions from members of the UK MBE community. The workshop is not commercially sponsored, and all exhibitors participate by invitation only.
